Who I Follow

I got a call at 3p.m. from my mom telling me she needs to eat NOW. My mom and dad had just come back from a tiring grand tour of eastern Europe and the airline food was so horrible, they ate very very little on the way back.

After suggesting a couple of new western restaurants, many of which were rejected immediately (“No more potatoes PLEASE, I can’t eat another potato.”), we settled on Nihonbashitei in Makati.

Hiyashi Somen. Cold dipping noodles. My brother never fails to order one of these in every japanese restaurant we go to.

Tuna Sashimi.

Miso Soup, Gyoza, and Enoki Mushrooms wrapped in Bacon.

image

Cha Soba. Another type of cold dipping noodles. Only the type of noodles are different. The sauces for both this and hiyashi somen are the same.

Unaju and miso soup. At least one person from our table orders some sort of unagi. Mmm… eel.

After watching a really cheesy romantic comedy (It Takes A Man and A Woman) with my mom, her friends, and my brother(forced), we headed down to Yaku to eat a late dinner.

My mom’s friends eat fast! I could barely snap pictures since they were gone the moment I turned around.

My brother’s Unaju. Aww. He waited for me to take a photo before he ate it. Well trained!

Spicy Tuna Roll, Grilled Meat, Tempura, and some sort of vegetable dish

Oh well, I need to learn to take faster photos.

Tea time like a lady! When I saw the TWG opened in Manila, I was so excited to finally be able to have tea and cakes like a regency romance novel heroine.

The interiors are lovely.

The mini-cakes are lovely.

Even the menu is lovely! And the tea list goes on for miles! I never knew there were this many different types of tea. (Some are really expensive too!)

The teapots are so shiny!

After multiple failed attempts at photographing tea being poured, dad took the teapot from my sister and poured this really slowly while laughing at me.

Mmm… Mango Dessert. Tasted kind of tea like. Hahaha. No one else got dessert though T_T
